Beyond the Algorithm: The Intuitive Core of Human Creativity
Part of the reason AI won’t replace professional creatives anytime soon is that human creatives operate on ‘intuitive, cognitive-based, dynamic, self-modifying prompts’. This often produces results blending deliberate effort and subconscious serendipitous activity. Human professional creatives zone out and slide into what is known as ‘flow’. Most of the time, we don’t know the exact outcome until the job is done. Creativity is a dynamic and continuous process which is only stopped by a deadline. This means that it is virtually impossible to give AI an exact prompt that would produce what a human would without the human first doing the work.
